Mark 4 Associates is a dental practice development consultancy created in 2003 By Paul Henny, DDS, Jim Graves, and Stan Kingma (Stan has since retired), to assist dentists who have advanced restorative clinical training more successfully integrate what they have learned into their day-to-day practices.
Mark 4 Associates is unique in the field of Dental Consultancies in that we begin with no programs, structures, or assumptions. We use a method known as "Process Consultation". Process Consultation is where research, analysis, self-exploration, and vision-development, naturally lead to the needs, desires, and priorities of an organization revealing themselves.
We use this method exclusively since significant change in a practice is almost impossible to sustain unless it is principles, values, and vision-based. Process consultation allows participants the time to figure out who they are, where they want to go, what resources they need, and then helps them to facilitate the journey.
Our role then is help each individual or group to learn, grow, and ultimately make the appropriate changes to their practice, at the appropriate times, which then ultimately lead to the realization of the Vision.
The scope of our work is broad but limited. We are very knowledgeable in the areas of behavioral and restorative skills development. Because the main focus of Mark 4 Associates is not to teach dentists the basic restorative skills needed to function as a proper restorative dentist, it commonly collaborates with The Pankey Institute, The Dawson Center, Dana Ackley, PhD, Dr. Frank Spear, Sandy Roth, Brian DesRoaches,PhD, and others to co-create appropriate developmental paths which are optimally matched to each individual's needs.
