Jim is recognized as an expert in Target Marketing, and has uniquely brought Prizm Cluster technology into the professional promotion of fine comprehensive dentistry. Prism Cluster technology has superseded the value of basic demographic information for well over two decades. Through sophisticated data collection and analysis, Prism Cluster technology considers historical consumer purchasing behavior, values and aspirations blended with traditional demographic measures to create projections of future purchasing behavior.
Jim Graves is also an accomplished public speaker and teacher. He is an adjunct faculty member for the Center for Business, Industry, and Technology where he teaches on management topics such as Team Building, Goal Setting, Performance Reviews, Handling Difficult Employees, and Leading Strategic Change. He is also a certified Microsoft Instructor in Microsoft Office programs, including Power-Point Communication for Executives. Additionally he is highly trained and experienced in digital photography and Photo-shop (critical and necessary skill sets for all restorative dentists today).
Jim co-founded Mark 4 Associates (www.mark4associates.com) with Paul Henny, DDS, and Stan Kingma. (Stan has since retired). Mark 4 Associates is a practice development consultancy focused on advancing the successful application of the Patient-centered, Comprehensive Care Practice Model. For Mark 4 clients, Jim teaches Team Development and Management, MBTI personality profiling tools and their strategic use, oversees all marketing research as well as strategic marketing plan development (Websites, print, radio, Broadcast & Cable TV, direct mail, Web search engines). An amazing negotiator, Jim also oversees all media purchasing, commonly saving Mark 4 clients 50% off standard rate cards.
Jim Graves has a Business Administration degree from Roanoke College and has completed numerous graduate courses at the Virginia Tech Pamplin School of Business. He lives in Roanoke, VA with his wife Debbie of almost 30 years and their two children, Spencer in middle-school and Betsy who now attends the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA.
